Tamil actor-director G Marimuthu, recently seen in Rajinikanth’s lead film “Jailer”, passed away on Friday. He was in his fifties. G Marimuthu died of a heart attack.

The Tamil actor-director was recently seen in Rajnikanth’s blockbuster movie “Jailer”.

Business analyst and business associate Ramesh Bala confirmed the news on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, adding that G Marimuthu is 57 years old.

He is famous for his role in the Tamil drama Ethirneechal. He has also worked as an assistant director with filmmaker Mani Ratnam and others.

Ramesh Bala tweeted: “Shocking: Popular Tamil actress Marimuthu died of a heart attack this morning… he recently made his telenovela debut and was liked by the big fan below… may his soul rest in peace!” In another tweet, he added: “At the age of 57… in Chennai.

Marimuthu was rushed to hospital.

According to a tweet from Johnson, a public relations spokesperson for the southern film industry, he was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

“Shocking…director and actor Marimuthu passed away today at 8.30 a.m. due to heart disease. May your place be heaven, Marimuthu,” he wrote on Twitter.

In another tweet, it was confirmed that the actress Marimuthu, 58, who voiced her voice in the TV series “Ethireneechel”, suddenly fell ill this morning and was taken to a nearby hospital.

Who was G Marimuthu?

As an Indian, he has acted in more than 50 films and directed films and TV series. In 1990, G Marimuthu left his hometown, Pasumalaitheri.

But soon, he became the Met’s lyricist Vairamuthu, and eventually, according to the Portal, he worked in films like Rajkiran, Aranmanai Kili (1993), and Ellame En Rasathan (1995).

The Assistant Director has worked with famous filmmakers like Mani Ratnam, Vasanth, Seeman, and SJ Surya. He also served as the director of Silambarasan’s Manmadhan.
