Actor Russell Brand is accused of rape, sexual assault and torture. The allegations are based on a joint investigation by The Sunday Times, The Times, and Channel 4’s Dispatches.
According to the investigation, four women were accused of having sex between 2006 and 2013.
Mr Brand was at the peak of his career. Meanwhile, Mr Brand denied the “serious accusations”.
There are very serious allegations in this shocking and negative attack, which I completely reject,” he said in a video posted on YouTube.
So what is the case against him?
A woman said Mr. Brand “harassed her on the wall of her Los Angeles home,” the Times reported.
According to medical records accessed by the news portal, the woman “received treatment at the rape center that day.”
Another woman, who was 16 at the time, claimed Mr Brand assaulted her when he was 31 years old and she was 16 years old and still going to school.
Mr. Bland “called her ‘baby,'” she added. “A third woman alleged that Mr. Bland harassed her and threatened her with legal action if she told anyone about her allegations,” according to the report.
Reports stated that the two were working together in Los Angeles at the time of the incident.
Mr Brand was accused of “physical and emotional abuse”.
A fourth woman also claimed she was “sexually assaulted.”Mr. Brand, known for his work in films such as “Bedtime Stories” and “Forgetting Sarah Marshall”, has been married to leading actress Katy Perry for two years.
