South Korean Actress Song Hye Kyo to return to Silver Screen with 'The Black Nuns'

Actress Song Hye Kyo announced her silver screen comeback with the film ‘The Black Nuns’.

On February 28, Song Hye Kyo posted an image of the Bible with the text ‘The Black Nuns’, along with the caption “Start” and hashtag #TheBlackNuns. Her co-star Lim Ji-yeon commented – “Fighting Sister,” on her post. Song Yoon-ah commented with heart and thumbs-up emojis, expressing her encouragement.

The plot revolves around a boy who gets possessed by a powerful evil spirit, and the nuns are trying to rescue him.

The film is the sequel to the 2015 South Korean movie ‘The Priests’ which captivated 5.44 million viewers. The latest film is a female-centric spin-off featuring Song Hye-Kyo in the role of a nun. The film is an addition to South Korean occult films.

Although Song Hye Kyo starred in Chinese films like ‘I am the Qeen’ and ‘TaePyungReon’ (2016), her last home-ground venture was the movie ‘My Brilliant Life’ in 2014. with ‘The Black nuns’, she will be returning to the silver screen after a decade.

Last year, the actress starred in the Netflix original hit series ‘The Glory’, where she played the role of a school violence victim. Her enigmatic performance swept away the viewers.

Apart from Song Hye Kyu, actors Jeon Yeo-bin and Lee Jin-uk, Huh Jun-ho, and Moon Woo-jin have joined the cast of ‘The Black Nuns’.
