Pokemon Go has reportedly ceased working in some places in India as map data of the Pokemon Go world vanishes. The game has become unplayable due the absence of the necessary location details.

Pokemon Go fans from different places in India are reporting in social medias about the sudden termination of the game.

The game map has become blank and all the Pokemon Gyms, PokeStops etc have disappeared into thin air in the affected areas. Many areas in India have been hit including places like Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kerala and Hyedrabad.

We confirm that the Pokemon Go is currently unplayable in Kolkata. This does not seem to any accidental problem of the game servers and instead done deliberately by the developer.

The game has previous records of becoming non-functional in some parts of Japan just before the official launch in the country. So, this may indicate that Niantic is preparing to release the the game soon in India.

The Pokemon Go has become one of the most popular games of all time. The game mixes the Pokemon world with the real world by augmented reality.

Soon after its release, the game went on to be the most downloaded game in both the Apple’s AppStore and the Google’s Play Store.

The game has been downloaded more than 30 million times from all sources combined. People are spending more time playing the game in a day than using Facebook or WhatsApp.

Till 20th July the game has brought in a total of 35 million USD into the pocket of its developer through in-game purchases. iOS users are spending around 1.6 billion USD per day on the game.

The stocks of Nintendo, the prime shareholder of the game has seen its stock value double up within a few weeks after the launching of the game. The company plans to release four more mobile games within March 2017.
