White reportedly had to miss more opportunities in the future while negotiating a contract with the producers. Puck News reported on Friday that White, 66, apparently contracted COVID-19 in late July while “Wheel” was filming its annual “Teachers Week” scheduled to come out in October.
During Teachers’ Week, the program called New Year’s Teacher Bridgette Donald-Blue to replace White in the paper this week, and will replace Vanna’s episode a few weeks in front of the paper during Teachers’ Week.
The next season of Wheel of Fortune starts on Monday, September 11, 2023.
It will be the first time that White has left the show in nearly 40 years.
This time around, he’s reportedly in the middle of a tight contract, hoping to get what he says is his first raise in 18 years.

White has reportedly revised his Best Actor Salary list after multiple reports that White was making less than Sajak, and the new deal resulted in a massive salary increase.
