Erica Robin, 24, won the inaugural Miss Pakistan Universe pageant in the Maldives but faced criticism in her home country.
According to The Independent, everyone from religious leaders to conservative leaders criticized the pageant and Miss Robin’s participation, questioning her participation in the Miss Universe pageant held in El Salvador in November.
Erica Robin competed for the title along with Hira Inam (24), Jessica Wilson (28), Malika Alvi (19), and Sabrina Wasim (26) and was crowned on Thursday.
